The only eye witness
He was the first eyewitness who claims to have seen two bombers putting a polythene bag inside a garbage bin near Barakhamba Road. Eleven-year-old Rohit (name changed) is now under police protection and is being helped by a psychiatrist and an NGO to recall the exact sequence of events. On Sunday morning, he was taken to the blast site as well. The police said Rohit "provided vital clues about the two suspects and we are working on them". "He told us that two men were wearing kurta-pyjama and had beards. Rohit has not been able to tell whether the two boarded another autorickshaw or walked into another direction. He did not remember the TSR registration number. The bomb went off 15 minutes after it was kept in the bin," said a senior police officer. "Several autorickshaw drivers are being examined by the police and we have asked them to come forward with information about the two bombers. We have got some vital leads and are working on them," added another officer. Rohit's family was contacted by the police and they have been assured of his safety. Rohit's grandmother, clutching a packet of balloons, said she hasn't met her grandson since the blast. She was in complete disarray, asking the cops for help in getting her grandson back. She said, "I haven't seen my grandson since yesterday. The cops have kept him at an undisclosed location. They say they will release him soon. I have been sitting outside the police station since yesterday."
