Handsome is that handsome does
Success comes to those who work with concentration and have the thoroughness in action. The surest way to live in this world is to live in reality rather than what we appear to be..and that's real attitude!!.
WOULD like to pose a question,
is Mother Teresa a beauty?
Was Mahatma Gandhi handsome?
Was Lincoln a good looking man?
The answer is no-not-at-all; yet they are loved, cherished and held in great esteem all over the world for their deeds of nobility towards mankind. Beautiful face are those that wear away after some time but it matters little -- dark or fair so long as handsome deeds are printed there.
Thus “handsome is that handsome does”. The surest way to live in this world is to live in reality rather than what we appear to be. We are our own fates. You may judge a flower or a butterfly by its appearance, but not a human being. A human being is recognised by his deeds, the person he is from within, his sense of understanding level, his civic sense and also by his sense of empathy for others. He has to work hard for it. Going with the pace of life ultimately he has to prove himself to be a ‘human being’ in the end. Material thinking is short lived because the inevitable truth is death ultimately.
Men in general judge from appearances rather than from reality. All men have eyes, but a few have gift of penetration. A face is no more an index of mind nowadays. In the veneer of the civilisation when science has shrunk the world into one global village and where man is valued only by the quality of work he produces, a good heart is a letter of credit.
Success comes to those who work with concentration and have the thoroughness in action. Anyone who achieves success in the management of any great affair of life is entitled to honour. He may be an artist who paints a picture, an author who writes a book or a soldier who wins the battle -- the credit goes to his ardent spirit, which is responsible for getting discouraged by the failures. Nothing great and durable can be achieved without perseverance. It is only by practice, patience, labour, thoroughness and an eye for perfection that man reaches the minutest details of the problem, overcomes them and attains his goal.
It should be borne in mind that behind every dream and success lies a long trail of passionate efforts, which the world may never come to know and we should not waste our time in proving them, in turn keep doing our work in patience and silence because ultimately we will achieve our goal sooner or later. Our God being a God of justice will pay us back for the hard work and labour we have put in our work for sure. In today’s world “sustainable development” is the new word, which is being put into action in the various fields. It is defined as a development, which is ongoing, dynamic and part of our daily life. Same is needed in every individual’s own life too. We need to grow, acquire knowledge and wisdom become sensible and responsible citizens who know their duties and are working to improve the present for a more better future. This will ultimately lead to nation building and also peace and prosperity in our country. In a joust if we work towards improving ourselves and our conditions we will ultimately help our country to grow in all the fronts, be it social, economic, political and personal.
To conclude it will be the lines from the poem: “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence two roads diverged in a wood and I took the one less travelled and that has made all the difference.
