Operation Black tornado still continues

Heavy firing continues at Taj Palace & Nariman Point (17:10 HRS IST) as i write. Security forces have cleared Hotel Oberoi Trident & is under full control of NSG. Commandos had killed two militants at the Oberoi-Trident hotel. Police found 24 bodies there, shortly after 93 guests and staff were freed. Gun battles continue at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel and a Jewish centre, where hostages are still being held. India's foreign minister said "elements with links to Pakistan" were involved. A previously unknown group calling itself the Deccan Mujahideen has claimed responsibility, but correspondents say this could be a hoax or an assumed name for another group.Earlier, the Indian navy took control of two Pakistani merchant navy ships and began questioning their crews after witnesses said some of the militants came ashore on small speedboats. At least 130 people are reported to have been killed since the attacks began late Wednesday, but that figure is expected to rise as more bodies are found.

Meanwhile, relatives of victims of the attacks grieved as they waited to pick up bodies from a hospital.
Indian commandos who managed to enter other parts of the Taj Mahal say they found at least 30 bodies in one hall. The commandos also said the militants were well aware of the layout of the hotel, and that they had recovered a Mauritius identity card as well as guns and money
On Thursday, police placed snipers on the rooftops of surrounding buildings and there were reports of continuing exchanges of fire.
The relief of the guests at the Oberoi-Trident was evident as 93 of them were escorted from the hotel on Friday morning following a 36-hour siege. They included 20 Air France crew members. One of those freed, Briton Mark Abell, spoke of his delight at seeing several heavily armed soldiers at his hotel door after spending so long inside his room. But he was shocked by the state of the hotel. "The lobby was carnage, blood and guts everywhere. It was very upsetting," he told the press.

All of the photos on this blog the past few days have been remarkable. I'm sorry that your people have had to deal with this terrible tragedy. The level of terrorism has certainly escalated and it's my fear that it will probably get much worse. The thoughts and prayers of the worldwide community are with you!

When will the nightmare end.....it doesn't matter which group is training them and who is the inspiring force behind.....what matters is how will we fight this deadly disease where the general public are targeted the most ?????

Why does the state always fail? The question needs to be addressed without demagogy. The time is not to blame the police and politics but to think out of the box to tackle the situation. National security must take precedence over all other considerations.
Despite being a nation that is constantly in the shadow of terror attacks, we sadly lack an unequivocal anti-terror policy. Vote-bank politics and parochial prudery upstage the national interests. Even now, certain sections in Tamil Nadu brazenly glorify the LTTE. As long as we continue to politicise everything, India will remain a soft target

The first step is to acknowledge that there is a problem in these people who only want instability in India. The government instead of appeasing minorities should actually act on providing security to all the people especially to the the borders , along the seas and along land. Come up with a homeland security team and educate the literates and illiterates on basic intelligence, it all costs but it is the need of the hour now. This is the time to act not talk, where is Sonia now, not one word out of her mouth. The fact is that the governments we have so far had have all ignored terrorism and look what we have in our hands. No one knows how to handle this situation in India. This is unprecedented situation, everyone was only worried as to how much money they could make at the cost of general public. Now they can worry about if they are all going to be alive. These so called elite are the ones that are going to be affected now. Shame on all our leaders and media. No professionalism.

Whatever happened cannot be forgotten by the people of India, but the worst thing happened is that we lost the brave person Hemant Karkare. People of India are so confused at the moment they are not ready to trust what they see. The politicians as made a bad effect on the people of India. Similar way I am thinking all what happened is done Just to kill Hemant Karkare because he was dealing with a sensitive Case.

where do u think i should start? feel rather sorry for you. all this while u were the one taking sides in your "walking and talking" and TV shows and every where and now suddenly, guptaji has woken up? may be wanting a bit of jagore.com.you were surely and sorely sleeping guptaji, well what did u do through the crisis? did u ask the incompetent home minister as to y he repeats the same statements after each and every terror strike? did you even once ask the government why its not hanging a terrorist even after the SC okayed it? did you ask the government even once why they enacted an ordnance in assam after the SC came down heavily? or did u ever bother to take to task any politician about the growing number of bangladeshi illegal immigrants in the country? you didn't, i am sure, except shedding some crocodile tears.but you were very robust about the service chief's unprecendented action! yet all the while claiming to be pro-soldiers!!!? nice to know u have woken up, .....finally

Instead of dicussing aboout the future course of action to prevent reoccurance of terrorist mayhem, better point out to the people thoroghly ineffctiveness of the State and the Central Govt. Was is the duty of the Govts spending more than crorers of rupees every month for protection of the Ministers and their favorites who are corrupt to core like Amarsing,Thakerays,Lalloos.P)aswan,Sonia and her family to have called upon these forces to protecgt the innoceant peoplre.None of the Mini8sters in Maharshra or people likeRaj Thakeray and his clan to relieve their Black Cats for the duty for which theybv trained instead of attending upon these crooked and corrupt people

Only in India, it is easy to come in boats, fire indiscriminately at the people, enter the international level hotels and hold the inmates as hostages, that too by a handful of lunatics. That they have set up control rooms at these hotels and knew the layout clearly shows their planning for this attack. But, have we planned for how to face the future attacks? It is a big NO. We have suffered a lot previously, by these terrorists, all over the country and we are still in Kumbhkarna sleep. We look helplessly when our tourist centres are attacked by the terrorists. Once, the terrorists are killed / arrested, we forget about Terrorists and go for the dirty politics. May be other countries are laughing at us, at our weakness.

It is so nauseating and abhorrent to read your apologist irrational mumbo jumbo. This article is s slap on the face of the decent, lawabiding and hard working Indians.Insted of sheltering behind namby pamby politically correct hyperbole and mumbo jumbo, you could have come down heavily on Islamic terrorism that is on a crusade to degrade India and turn it into inhuman pogrom. Did you know after Iraq< India is the most bombed nation on this Earth? and the cuplrits are bigoted Jihadis. It is a well known fact that Islamo fascistnexus of Indian/Pakistani/Bangladesh nexus is at work to prevent India from becoming a major economic and military power. It is lamatable that so called intellectuals like you fail to conceive this simple dynamics.instead you embarked on appeasing the terrorist with your well known brand of bleating tosh.

We are very good, rather excellent at rhetoric. This article is a good example of that. And normally we don't mean a word of what we say. Congress party is an excellent example as its rhetoric on terrorism shows. The press and the media had started doubting the competence of our worthy home minister as far back as 2005.And the rulers in the Congress would have known what everyone thinks of him. But what did it do? And just because BJP was highlighting the issue of terrorism, Congress's resolve not to do anything about it became stronger and stronger. And now what does Shekhar expect when elections will be held in the next 6 months? Absolutely nothing will happen because in another week when state election results will be announced we all will forget the terror attack in Mumbai.

What is difference between Raj Thakrey and These terrorist. Terrorist are killing the people in the name of religion and Raj was killing the people in the name of language and state. Our president is a Marathi, but she had no time to condemn the act of Raj Thakerey. By the way, where is Raj and Bal thakrey hiding. Why they do come forward and fight these terrorist for the sake of protecting pride of Maharashtra. It is people of north India from Punjab, rajsthan, Haryan , Bihar and UP who contitute the bulk of commondo force fighting these terrorist
