It’s a fashion fiesta!
Style and fashion have been defined and redefined every year in Delhi University. SDP takes a look at the incredible fashion consciousness prevailing among the students in the campus. An attire showeth a man from a pauper to a king" said William Shakespeare. And how true it is, indeed! Keeping up with the changing trends and with the ever-evolving fashion scenario, students struggle to keep their wardrobe in tune with the current fashion as possible. It is like a rat race, where everyone wants to be the best and look the best and as they say, "let us be elegant or die!" Girls and boys coming from different towns usually dress accordingly to their state specific attire. Some people coming from small towns, say, prefer to dress in Suits or easy clothing, rather than, comparatively, loud dressing style of the Delhi youngsters. Heena, of Gargi College says "I have come from Jaipur and I like dressing the way we dress there, which is wearing a suit or maybe a top with Jaipur jootis. And surprisingly, the typical jootis that I usually wear have become quite popular in my college!" For students coming from the North-Eastern parts of India, it is a completely different story all together. "The students coming from North- East are the one’s who set the trend", says Manisha Chaturvedi, of Moti Lal Nehru College. "Apart from having an excellent taste in clothes, they really know how to carry it off." Them being the "fashion gurus" with every coming year, thanks to them, the trend changes and new additions are made." And the latest one is adopted. As Oleg Cassini said "Fashion anticipates, and elegance is a state of mind…a mirrior of the time in which we live, a translation of the future, and should never be static."
