Lord Mahavir

Ahinsa sthal: -On the main Mehrauli road is a large statue 14 feet (4 meters high)of Lord Mahavira on a hillock. It was built in the 1980s on what used to be the Metcalfe Battery, a small lighthouse erected by Thomas Metcalfe in the 19th century. The area around the statue has been made into a park. Ahinsa Sthal in Hindi means area of peace. I took this picture from Mehrauli Archaeological Park
